Hazards of Unrotted Chicken Manure

Hazards of Unrotted Chicken Manure
1, Infectious pests and diseases

Livestock farm fertilizer contains germs and pests such as E. coli and nematodes, and direct use will lead to the spread of pests and diseases, crop morbidity, and also have an impact on human health of edible agricultural products; when unrotted chicken manure is fermented in the soil, it is easy to breed germs and the occurrence of pests.

In addition, chicken manure is a host and breeding ground for root-knot nematodes, carrying 100 root-knot nematode eggs per 1000 grams itself.

The nematodes are extremely sensitive to chemicals and will quickly move to a depth of 50cm-1.5m underground after application, making it difficult to eradicate. Especially for 3 years old sheds, root knot nematode is one of the most deadly hidden problems.

2, Secondary fermentation burn root and seedlings

Insufficiently fermented livestock farm fertilizer is applied to the ground, when the fermentation conditions are available, it will start the secondary fermentation, if the fermentation part of the root is closer, and the crop plant is small, the heat generated by the fermentation will affect the growth of the crop, and in serious cases lead to plant death.

3, Acidification of orchard soil

Livestock farm fertilizer is generally strongly acidic fertilizer (PH value of 3.6 ~ 4.7), the use of fermentation is required to adjust the ph pH. Therefore, the application of acidic livestock farm fertilizer in the orchard is tantamount to "adding insult to injury", resulting in rotten roots, black roots, yellow leaves, premature decline of the tree, nutrient absorption is blocked and other hazards.

4, Toxic gas hazard

Raw manure used in the ground in the decomposition process will produce methane, ammonia and other harmful gases, so that the soil and crops produce acid damage and root damage, more importantly, the ethylene gas produced has the effect of inhibiting the growth of the root system, but also the main reason for root burning.

5, Soil oxygen deficiency

Although the raw manure contains a certain amount of organic matter, but not fermentation takes a certain amount of time to decompose and transform to be used, in the process of decomposition consumes the oxygen in the soil, so that the soil is temporarily in a state of oxygen deficiency, will make the crop growth is inhibited.

6, Slow fertilization effect

Not fermented and matured livestock farm fertilizer, nutrients are mostly organic or slow-acting state, can not be directly absorbed by crops, only decomposition into fast-acting state, can be absorbed by crops. So not fermented directly applied to slow down the fertilizer effect.

7, Heavy metals exceed the standard

At present, intensive breeding using a variety of feed additives, additives contain more copper, zinc, lead and other heavy metal elements, livestock utilization of trace elements is usually low, with the excretion of feces and urine. Heavy metal content increases with the increase in the amount of chicken manure.

High content of heavy metals has a significant inhibitory effect on the growth of vegetables. When the concentration of copper, zinc and lead in the soil was 50 mg/kg, it inhibited the elongation of tomato roots to different degrees, and when the concentration of copper and zinc reached 400 mg/kg, the elongation of tomato roots no longer grew.

When the concentration of lead reached 2000 mg/kg, the elongation of tomato roots was severely inhibited.

8, Inconvenient and inefficient utilization

Untreated livestock farmyard manure is not easily transportable, large in size, low in active ingredients and costly to use. The conversion of organic matter to humus takes longer and nutrient loss is serious.
