What the Future of the Farming Industry will Change

What the Future of the Farming Industry will Change
I. Free-Range Farmers to Specialization

Due to environmental problems, egg price problems, etc., we found that many of the previous free-range farmers disappeared, so many people said that free-range farmers will disappear and will go to scale farming. We are talking about the number of free-range farmers and scale is classified by the number, and the number does not represent competitiveness! This has been confirmed in 2021 when the egg price market is low. Scale does not mean more profitability and competitiveness.

And we should not classify according to size, but according to specialization. The free-range farmers we are talking about here are not only small in scale, but also a group of people who are not professional in farming. Free-range farmers breeding is not professional, farming is not his main income, so it is inevitable to be eliminated. Specialized farmers, on the other hand, may not be very large, but they are very competitive. For example, a professional farmer with 30,000-50,000 egg farms is more competitive because of good breeding, good management and low costs. Therefore, one of the future changes is from "free-range farmers" (non-professional) to professionalism.

The essence of the recent changes in the industry is the transition from unprofessional to professional; the professional eliminates the unprofessional. And not the scale of the elimination of free-range.

II. From Quantity-Based to Quality-Based

Initially, the profit opportunity of farming is to meet the "quantity" of demand. Now, the consumer's consumption ability is increasing day by day, and the consumption of meat, eggs and milk has a higher quality demand.

Today, many farmers are still quantity and cost oriented, which has limited room for profit. It is a fact of life and a law of the business world that big road products can only ever be marginally profitable. And once the demand is weak, small changes in the market, it is easy to lose money.

III. From Money-Saving Thinking to Premium Thinking

I have heard the phrase "the essence of the profitability of China's current farming industry: is the farmer to earn the money of the farmer". What do you mean? It is good to earn the money of the part of the people who do not raise; or the low cost, earn the money of the part of the high cost. Instead of making money from consumers.

Engaged in farming rather than business, so thinking is limited: the space to save money is limited, a little feed fluctuations, epidemics appear, the profit is gone. Premium thinking, on the other hand, is thinking about how to sell good meat, eggs and milk at a higher price. To put it bluntly, money-saving thinking is a reflection of farming thinking; while premium thinking is a note of business thinking.

IV.From Breeding to Management

We often instill the owner of an egg farm with the following thinking: "Why are there "cull chickens"? Because he only focuses on the eggs! Why not sell the old hens and sell some "by-product" eggs?

If this is business thinking, then it requires comprehensive consideration and systematic planning.

1. What kind of breed has a higher egg production rate and a lower dead panning rate?

2. What kind of feed will have a lower egg ratio?

3. How to sell the value of old hens?

4. What kind of egg products have more profit margin?

5. How to realize the brand premium by building the brand?

6. How to maximize the value of chicken manure? -How to process chicken manure into organic fertilizer?
